The Silk Difference

At Creed & Cloth, our dedication to exquisite craftsmanship is embodied in our choice of material for our headscarves. Unlike common synthetic satin headscarves, each Creed & Cloth scarf is meticulously crafted from 100% Mulberry silk (grade A) with the elegant finish of a satin weave.

Mulberry silk not only speaks to luxury but also carries with it unparalleled benefits. It is considered the highest quality silk available for several reasons:

Source: Mulberry silk is produced by silkworms (Bombyx mori) that are fed exclusively on leaves from the mulberry tree. This controlled diet results in a silk of exceptional quality.

Texture and Feel: Mulberry silk fibres are smoother, finer, and more uniformly coloured compared to other types of silk. The individual fibres are also rounder, smoother, lighter, and more uniformly coloured.

Durability and Strength: It is stronger and more durable than most other silk types. This is because the continuous long fibres, which are unbroken (unlike wild silks where the silkworms break the cocoon to emerge), result in a stronger fabric.

Hypoallergenic: Mulberry silk is also naturally hypoallergenic. The sericin residue, a natural protein in silk, repels dust mites and mold, making it a better choice for people with allergies.

Lustre and Shine: It has a more lustrous appearance due to the uniform colour and high reflectivity of the fibres.

Breathability and Temperature Regulation: It has good breathability and regulates temperature well, making it comfortable to wear in various climates.
