The Art of Silk Care

Embracing the care of your Creed & Cloth scarf is a simple and rewarding ritual. Our easy-to-follow care tips will help you preserve its exquisite softness and lasting elegance.

Washing

Hand Wash: Fill a basin with lukewarm water (about 30°C or 86°F) and add a small amount of mild detergent specifically designed for silk. Submerge the scarf gently in the water. Swirl it around softly with your hands for a few minutes. Do not soak for more than five minutes to prevent colour fading.

Rinsing

Rinse the scarf thoroughly in cold water until all soap is removed. Avoid twisting or wringing the scarf, as this can damage the silk fibres.

Drying

Remove Excess Water: Lay the scarf flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel and scarf together to gently press out excess water.

Air Dry: Unroll the scarf and lay it flat on a fresh, dry towel or hang it on a drying rack. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources, as they can fade and weaken the silk.

Ironing
  • If ironing is needed, wait until the scarf is slightly damp.
  • Set the iron to the "silk" setting or use a low heat setting.
  • Place a pressing cloth between the iron and the silk to protect it.
  • Iron on the reverse side of the fabric.

Storage

  • Store the silk scarf in a cool, dry place.
  • Avoid hanging it for long periods, as this can stretch the fabric. Instead, gently fold and place it in a drawer.
  • Keep it away from harsh chemicals and sharp objects.

Additional Tips

  • Avoid Bleach: Never use bleach on silk, as it can damage the fibres.
  • Spot Cleaning: For small stains, spot clean with a mixture of lukewarm water and a few drops of mild detergent. Rinse with water and let air dry.
  • Professional Cleaning: For challenging stains or if you're unsure about cleaning, consider professional dry cleaning.

By following these care instructions, your C&C scarf will retain its beauty and luxurious feel for years to come.
